Rwanda releases its updated NDC with support provided by Carbon Counts
Carbon Counts has led the technical assistance to the Government of Rwanda to develop its updated NDC, recently approved and submitted to the UNFCCC. The updated NDC commits the country to reduce GHG emissions by 38% through both conditional and unconditional contributions of 16% and 22% respectively. The technical assistance, provided by the World Bank NDC Support Facility, identifies priority measures to reduce emissions from a range of projects and policies covering energy, waste and agricultural, and provides a detailed framework for implementation and monitoring progress. In addition to new mitigation targets, Rwanda’s NDC will track adaptation progress across 38 indicators in sectors including: water, agriculture, land use and forestry, human settlements, health, transportation, and mining.
